Cambridgeshire has a whole range of leisure and cultural activities and the opportunities for social and leisure activities are many and varied. Sport and leisure facilities in the county are managed by the District Councils and there is a wealth of information online.

Groups and activities

There are thousands of community groups and organisations in Cambridgeshire, many of which run regular activities and get-togethers.

If you can't find anything you like near you, you could start your own group and use to advertise it to new members. You can even use to find a venue you can use.




EngAGE provides a range of opportunities for people over 50. These include EngAGE in the Afternoon/Morning - monthly social events held in libraries across the county, free Computer Buddying sessions to help develop basic computer skills, knitting groups and T'ai Chi classes.


Ability Plus Group

The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Ability Plus Group promotes sport and recreation for people with disabilities or additional needs.


Stepping Stone

The Stepping Stone service offers free   personal  support, advice and funding to adults and young people (14+) with a disability or long term physical, sensory or health need to get involved in sport. Stepping Stone will work with you one-to-one to help find a suitable sport and then liaise with local sports providers to ensure they can support you effectively in your chosen sport.
